Office of the CIO
With constantly evolving operations and transformative projects happening at any one time, our team in the Office of the CIO works across all areas of IAG Tech with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
This multi-faceted function supports by overseeing governance and supporting functions such as HR, Finance, Procurement, and Legal to provide leadership, oversight, and key functional deliverables to create IAG Tech functional strategy and plans.
Our team also manages the risk register for all IAG Tech areas. In addition, it ensures all IAG Tech locations have a minimum standard of working environment, including health and safety and IT Infrastructure.

Hangar 51 and the Technology Office
Hangar 51 is a team of experts within IAG Tech focused on digital transformation and the implementation of Group digital strategy. Core activities and capabilities focus on transforming the Group with innovative, disruptive and emerging technologies across key strategic themes such as AI and Data, Automation, Marketplaces, Digital Mindset, and Shop Order Settle (advanced commercial retailing for the aviation sector).
Our Hangar 51 Team is committed to research, technology and innovation within IAG, working closely with the technical and innovation teams.
Software Engineering and Delivery
Our mission is to accelerate the standardisation, adoption and exploitation of technology across the Group, driving shareholder value, business performance, customer and employee experience and security and resilience.
Our team manages a single view of the portfolio of products and projects with data-driven insights enabled by common tools. We have a common approach to software engineering and delivery with best practices shared and adopted. We are continually increasing tooling and automation to ensure delivery is as close to the business as possible, achieving business initiatives and Group synergies.
Infrastructure and Operations
Our aim is to operate a set of services flawlessly to agreed Service Level Agreements while demonstrating excellent value for money and driving continuous improvement. We aim to implement the seamless transition of services into our live environment with increasing adoption and support of product and DevSecOps teams.
In addition, we have an increasing focus on cloud services to improve our stability and provide proactive support with self-healing systems.
Cyber Security, Risk and Compliance
We operate using a single cyber security strategy and set of policies and standards to protect the business from cyber threats and risks and ensure our compliance.
Our team is made up of many specialists in cyber security, risk and compliance. We own and drive disaster recovery and business continuity planning while liaising with external agencies to improve our position against threats. In addition, we execute information assurance, security testing and provide leadership on compliance issues and risks.
